Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, a person was reported to be in difficulty in the area of St Peter’s Pool.
The Civil Protection Department (CPD) subsequently informed the Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) and requested assistance to rescue the person. In response, a rescue helicopter was dispatched by the Armed Forces of Malta, which successfully carried out the rescue operation despite rough weather conditions.
Following the rescue, the person was handed over to the medical personnel of Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment.
