On Friday, the Malta Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) coordinated a medical evacuation from onboard a vessel, where it was reported that two crew members were in need of urgent medical attention.
The adverse weather out at sea made rescue conditions particularly challenging, however both crew members were safely airlifted by an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter, who were then handed over to Mater Dei Hospital personnel for further treatment.
The Armed Forces of Malta urges the public to take note of inclement weather notices from the authorities and avoid venturing near or out at sea when such warnings are issued.
