During an event marking the official launch of a Changan vehicle, Prime Minister Robert Abela stated that the launch of this new vehicle brand in Malta aligns with the Government’s vision for the future of transport. “A future defined by technology, efficiency and environmental responsibility,” said Dr Abela.
He reiterated the Government’s commitment to continue supporting the ecological transition, which is being implemented through concrete measures. Prime Minister Abela referred to the incentives that the Government offers to purchase new electric vehicles. He stressed that these measures are ensuring that sustainable options remain accessible to both families and businesses.
Dr Abela added that these efforts form part of a broader national approach towards concrete action that is addressing climate change. “Malta is investing in cleaner transport, renewable energy and more innovative infrastructure to reduce emissions, improve air quality, and above all the quality of life of the Maltese and Gozitans. All this goes hand in hand with the Malta 2050 Vision, which places sustainability, innovation and resilience at the forefront of our national development,” the Prime Minister added. “Today we can proudly say that nine out of ten new vehicles entering the Maltese market run on alternative energy,” the Prime Minister stressed as he described this change as evidence of how much public awareness, in this regard, is constantly growing.
Changan Automobile has an international presence and experience. This brand is increasingly expanding in the manufacturing, research and development of cars. The first model being introduced locally is the Changan Deepal S07, with more models planned in the future.
