Hibernians are up to third in the YoHealth Malta Premier Closing Round league phase following a 2-1 over Zabbar St. Patrick 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday.
They are just one point behind joint-leaders Floriana and Gzira United and one ahead of Valletta and Hamrun Spartans. Zabbar are still rooted to the bottom along with Mosta and Tarxien Rainbows.
Cleiton De Jesus put Hibs in front just before the half hour and with ten minutes to the break Mailson Lima’s penalty conversion gave Hibs a healthy 2-0 half-time lead.
Santiago gave Zabbar some hope with his 70th minute strike but Hibs held out for the win and three vital points.
