Where Tomorrow Takes Root: Registration for exhibitors opens for Malta AgriFair 2026

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo

Minister Anton Refalo together with Parliamentary Secretary Alicia Bugeja Said announced that registrations for exhibitors have opened for the Malta AgriFair 2026, the leading national platform for agriculture, fisheries, food systems and related sectors.

Following its success and strong public attendance, the Malta AgriFair 2026 will return for a third edition to mark the crucial role of these sectors in the Maltese economy and identity. The fair will be held from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 April 2026, between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm, at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC), Ta’ Qali. The fair will bring together farmers, fishermen, producers, educators, innovators, businesses, families and policy makers, offering a space for dialogue, learning, collaboration and public engagement.

This year’s theme, “Where Tomorrow Takes Root”, represents a vision that combines respect for tradition with the need to invest in sustainability, innovation and future generations, and highlights the collective responsibility to strengthen today what will sustain tomorrow. Among the key priorities are sustainable and resource-efficient agriculture, circular and waste-free agriculture, innovative technologies and smart agriculture, as well as organic and in-conversion farming. At the same time, the fair remains committed to protecting and strengthening indigenous breeds, traditional practices and Maltese food heritage.

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo said that the Malta AgriFair represents a strategic platform that connects the present with the future of the primary sectors in Malta. “The Malta AgriFair is not just an exhibition of products or activities, but a space where the daily work of our farmers, ranchers, fishermen and producers is given the recognition it deserves, while we continue to invest in sustainable and innovative solutions that guarantee a strong future for these sectors. The chosen theme reminds us that the decisions we make today are those that will shape food security, the rural economy and our identity as a country for generations to come.”

Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Animal Rights Alicia Bugeja Said

Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Animal Rights Alicia Bugeja Said said, “Agrifair has entered the calendar of the Maltese as the largest agricultural and fisheries-related fair, which has continued to be held in our country over the past few years. I encourage all exhibitors who wish to participate to come forward and be able to exhibit their products during this year’s Agrifair.” She thanked the Ministry’s staff for their work in making this event a success.

Director of Support Services Estelle Sant explained, “The Malta AgriFair offers a space where we come together as a sector, as a community and as a country. It is a testament to the work, resilience and commitment of workers, farmers, ranchers, fishermen, producers, entrepreneurs and educators – who continue to strengthen the sector every day for Malta’s identity and food security. This year’s theme is a statement of direction that represents the need to do what we do today with an eye on the future, with a more sustainable, more innovative and more resilient sector.”
