This evening, Civil Protection crews from Fire Station 3 were deployed to Gnejna Bay following a report of a body sighted along the shoreline.
A coordinated search and rescue operation was undertaken, resulting in the retrieval of the deceased individual from the sea. The person was found with no signs of life and in an advanced state of decomposition. A medical doctor subsequently certified the individual deceased at the scene.
The incident has been formally handed over to the Malta Police Force for further investigation.
