Police patrols in Marsa led to the arrest of two men in separate drug-related cases.

During the night between Friday and Saturday, at around 01:00am, police officers were on foot patrol in Sqaq il-Ġerrejja, Marsa, where they noticed three men acting suspiciously. A search on one of them led to the discovery of 8 sachets containing substance suspected to be synthetic cannabis.

Later, at around 09:00am, while officers were on patrol again in Belvedere Garden, Marsa, they noticed individuals loitering in the area who also raised suspicion. A search on one of them resulted in the discovery of sachets containing substance suspected to be synthetic cannabis, along with a sum of cash.

The man was arrested and a search was also carried out at his residence in Marsa, where further suspected synthetic cannabis, items related to drug trafficking and around €3,000 in cash were found.

Both men are expected to be arraigned in Court shortly.
