President Donald Trump is threatening to impose rising tariffs on eight European countries until the US is allowed to purchase Greenland.
Speaking at the White House on Friday, Donald Trump said, “I may put a tariff on countries if they don’t go along with Greenland, because we need Greenland for national security.”
Denmark’s foreign minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen was very clear on his country’s stand: “One can neither buy nor take over Greenland,” he said in a post on social media on Friday evening.
