Road checks Malta Police
During Tuesday evening, police continued with ongoing patrols and inspections in Ta’ Qali and Rabat, following reports of dangerous driving and traffic violations.
Two drivers, aged 25 and 26, were caught drifting and performing dangerous manoeuvres in a public parking area in Ta’ Qali, putting both themselves and others at risk. Both were stopped and informed that criminal charges will be issued against them.
Later in the evening, while patrolling in Rabat, officers noted a vehicle driving at excessive speed, reaching over 160km/h and ignoring traffic laws. The vehicle was eventually stopped in Siġġiewi. Upon inspection, the 21-year-old driver was found to have an illegal emergency siren installed in the car, along with other violations. Charges will be issued and the vehicle has been confiscated.
The Malta Police Force reminds the public that speeding and reckless driving does not just break the law – it puts lives at risk. Enforcement will continue.
