Storm Goretti is expected to hit the UK today bringing travel chaos with it.
The Met Office has issued two amber warnings as a result:
- An amber snow warning tonight for some or all of the East and West Midlands, South West England, Wales and South/West Yorkshire with a warning that rural areas could be cut off. A similar warning is in place for the south of England, especially Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Snow and ice have already disrupted travel across much of Europe with many flights in France cancelled and bus services suspended in parts of the country.
Dutch airline KLM cancelled around 600 flights on Wednesday, with the number of cancellations expected to rise throughout the day at Schiphol airport, marking the sixth day of disruption due to Goretti.
