Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government Owen Bonnici together with the Chairperson of the Valletta Cultural Agency Jason Micallef visited the final preparations for the national New Year’s Eve celebrations.
These celebrations will start in Valletta tomorrow at 8:45pm, and promise a spectacular evening of music, entertainment, and fireworks. Minister Owen Bonnici said, “Events like these are important because they provide an opportunity for the Maltese and Gozitan people to welcome the new year as one united people. The preparations show the great commitment to making New Year’s Eve a memorable evening, full of music, entertainment and spectacle for all. Congratulations to all those involved, and best wishes for Valletta to continue to come alive, with the participation of various local and international talents.”
“The Valletta Cultural Agency has achieved another successful year and will close its varied programme with the much-awaited New Year’s Eve celebrations in Valletta. The work being carried out by the agency is clear proof that the people have confidence in the valuable work being done by the agency, which is always continuing to improve its cultural product.”
The celebrations will be hosted by Ron, Jamie Cardona and Taryn Mamo Cefai and will kick off with Maltese singer Glen Vella and his band, followed by The Palace String Orchestra. The evening will feature performances by some of Malta’s top artists including Aidan Drakard, Denise, Gaia, Karin Duff, Keith Zammit Mintoff, Klinsmann, and Miriana Conte.
As the countdown approaches, DJs Denzel Jo Armani and Wayne will continue to set the mood with the best dance hits of 2025, enhanced by impressive stage effects and fireworks broadcast live on local TV stations. The fireworks display at the Grand Harbour will be the biggest yet thanks to the collaboration with the Malta Tourism Authority. The celebrations will culminate at the stroke of midnight with a special live concert by international star John Newman. Known for his global hit “Love Me Again” and collaborations with dance producers such as Calvin Harris (“Blame”).
The evening will end with a great set by DJ Gabii, who will ensure the celebrations come to a spectacular end. The celebrations will end by 2am.
The Valletta Ferry Services service will be extended until 1am, while the bus service will be extended on 16 routes and 5 night service routes, with these routes operating until later than 1am, thanks to Malta Public Transport. The service is free for Tallinja card holders, and €3 for travel without a card.
The national New Year’s Eve celebrations in Valletta are organised by G7 Events and supported by the Partnership Agreement for Large-Scale Events and Initiatives provided by the Valletta Cultural Agency within the Ministry for Culture, Lands and Local Government. This event is also supported by the Malta Tourism Authority.
