Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is to meet with US President Donald Trump later today in yet another attempt to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.
This latest meeting will take place not in the White House but in Florida and comes as Russia pounded the Ukrainian capital Kiev overnight.
In a post on Telegram, Mr Zelenskyy said Russia targeted Ukraine with almost 500 drones and 40 missiles of various types.
Mr Zelenskky will be discussing an updated “peace plan” with Donald Trump as efforts continue to find a diplomatic solution to the war in Ukraine.
Before arriving in the US, President Zelenskky met briefly with Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney who announced an additional $2.5 billion of economic aid for Ukraine.
After his meeting with President Trump, President Zelenskky will hold further talks with European leaders.
