Among these successes, the Prime Minister mentioned the “roam like at home” agreement in the Western Balkans as a concrete example of how strategic cooperation leads to significant results that are felt by citizens. He noted that these achievements are a testament to what can be achieved through persistent dialogue and a shared vision.

Prime Minister Robert Abela also spoke about the importance of intensifying efforts to resolve bilateral disputes and strengthen regional reconciliation, in order to continue building a stable future based on mutual respect and good neighbourly relations.
While reaffirming Malta’s full support for the European Union enlargement process, the Prime Minister described it as an essential geopolitical imperative for Europe’s security and prosperity that must be built on the European values of democracy, the protection of fundamental human rights and the rule of law, which remain at the heart of relations. He reiterated Malta’s commitment to the accession journey of these countries and said that Malta looks forward to further cooperation and progress in the coming year.
