Two men, aged 35 and 37 years, have been arrested in connection with a mugging that took place in a parking area near the Addolorata Cemetery in Paola.
The incident occurred a few days ago, when a woman was attacked from behind when an assailant wearing a mask, stole her bag containing a mobile phone and cash before fleeing in a vehicle driven by an accomplice. The victim was treated at Paola Health Centre where she was certified to have suffered minor injuries.
After intensive investigations and analysing several CCTV footages, the police identified both suspects, who are expected to be arraigned in court later today.
