The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri visited the activities that took place in Nadur during the ‘Joy to The World – Together for a Merry Christmas’ event in Nadur, a full programme with a festive atmosphere that managed to attract a number of families and children to this village and which forms part of the ‘Christmas in Gozo’ event.

“We are continuing our work so that Gozo continues to dress up in Christmas attire and, more than that, make the experience for all those who visit us one of the best. In Nadur Square, apart from the Christmas decorations, one can visit a small chapel that is hosting an exhibition of a traditional nativity scene as well as ‘Santa’s House’. In Għajnsielem we lit the Christmas tree that is made of hundreds of bottles which also continues with the number of activities around Gozo, as in a few days we will also be opening the living Bethlehem nativity scene in Għajnsielem like every year in this locality,” explained Minister Camilleri.

In Nadur, the Christmas Parade took place on December 13 Street with dancing, singing, Christmas characters and the presence of Santa and Mrs. Claus. After the parade, a Grand Finale was held in the Square with activities and entertainment and Santa’s House and Toy Shop were also opened in the Square, and Santa Claus welcomed people, especially children, for photos and a magical experience. The public was also able to visit a new chapel that hosted an exhibition of a traditional nativity scene, crafted with skill and devotion that reflects our cultural heritage. In addition, during the day and evening there was a varied program in the Square with choirs, a band and dancing, along with games, Christmas food and drinks so that everyone could enjoy this experience. Meanwhile, in Għajnsielem, the Christmas tree, which is approximately 60 feet high and is made of 4,500 glass bottles, was lit.

Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that the Ministry remains committed to providing its support for activities such as these which are not only an attraction for anyone who chooses to visit the island of Gozo at this time of year but above all serve as entertainment for our families and residents.
