A man was arrested by the police at the Malta International Airport after he was found in possession of more than 19 kilograms of substance suspected to be khat, with an estimated market value of around €8,000.
The man was stopped by Customs officers upon his arrival on a flight from Amsterdam and during a search of his luggage, the police found 100 packets containing the suspected substance.
He is expected to be brought before the court later today.
