The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri has launched the “Christmas in Gozo” programme with around 165 activities for the whole family which will start on 29 November 2025 and will continue until 6 January 2026. Coordinated by the Directorate for Cultural Heritage within the Ministry, the “Christmas in Gozo” programme will kick off on Saturday 29 November with the “Christmas it’s Time” concert at the Aurora Opera House, Victoria. The culmination will be reached on New Year’s Eve with a spectacular show in Victoria featuring several local singers and international guests Eiffel 65.
Minister Camilleri stated that, “Once again the Ministry is taking care of an extensive programme spread across the entire island with various activities in collaboration with various VOs and local councils. Christmas in Gozo remains one of the most important events, which over the years has grown and become a centre of a unique experience for all families. For another year I invite everyone to come and enjoy this beautiful time of year with us.”
He recalled how the tourism sector in Gozo continued to strengthen throughout the year, so much so that statistics show that the largest increases in tourists were precisely in the seasons that were traditionally considered quieter. Minister Camilleri stated that these results give courage for more courageous work, because when tourism in Gozo bears fruit, everyone benefits.
The varied programme of events for “Christmas in Gozo” this year includes popular activities including the Christmas Parade in Republic Street, Rabat; Bethlehem in Għajnsielem, Children’s World at Villa Rundle where there will also be a Christmas Market and Illuminated Gardens, Rabat; The Rock n’ Roll Panto Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood, Teatru Astra; Christmas Magic – Għar Ilma, Santa Luċija; Santa’s Workshop Ta’ Dbieġi Crafts Village, Għarb, Carols by Candlelight, concerts and various traditional Gozitan nativity scenes. These activities are designed to offer entertainment, culture and a festive atmosphere throughout this magical season.
Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by saying that “Christmas in Gozo” is possible thanks to the work and involvement of many people including Ministry staff, organisers, artists and volunteers who with their passion and talent make this time even more special.
