Two men were arrested early Friday morning, about half an hour after committing a robbery from a shop in San Ġwann.
At around half past midnight, the men entered a shop armed with a sharp and pointed weapon and demanded money from the cashier. When he saw this, the cashier pushed a display case on them, causing the men to run out of the shop and flee using a car which was reported stolen earlier.
While on patrol, police officers spotted the same vehicle parked, with the two men inside it. In their possession, officers found a knife, gloves, and some tools.
They are expected to be charged in court in the coming days.
