Speaker of the House of Representatives Anġlu Farrugia handed over a car donated to him by a benefactor to Mater Dei Hospital, where it will help a number of patients who require transport to attend their treatment and dialysis.
It was explained how after consultation between Speaker Anġlu Farrugia and Minister Jo Etienne Abela, it was decided that the best use for this vehicle would be to offer assistance to those in need. Therefore, it was determined that this vehicle would be dedicated to people suffering from dialysis or similar medical conditions that require regular care and special transport.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed his sense of gratitude and solidarity while presenting a vehicle that will be used to serve patients who require special care and transport. He said that this gesture represents the desire to place authority at the service of humanity. “I feel truly honoured to be participating in this moment of service and solidarity. This is not just a presentation of a vehicle, but a gesture of love towards humanity and towards the common good”, concluded Speaker Anġlu Farrugia.
The Opposition Spokesperson for Health, Stephen Spiteri, said that this initiative will concretely help dialysis patients, and reiterated the importance of these people being given every possible assistance to facilitate their journey to regular care.
