The Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association (MHRA) commends the Malta Police Force for
their recent successful operation which led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal
drugs, preventing millions of euros’ worth of cocaine from reaching the streets.
This decisive action once again demonstrates the professionalism and vigilance of Malta’s
law enforcement authorities in protecting society and safeguarding the country’s
reputation. MHRA strongly supports a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, which not only
endanger lives but also threaten the social wellbeing, economic stability, and integrity of our islands.
Drug-related crime undermines communities and discourages investment and quality
tourism, both vital pillars of Malta’s economy. MHRA emphasizes that keeping Malta safe,
clean, and welcoming is essential to preserving its appeal as a destination of excellence,
