Labour’s Alex Agius Saliba ranked fourth most influential MEP

Labour MEP Alex Agius Saliba

According to a study by the communications agency Burson, Alex Agius Saliba, who serves as vice president of the Socialists and Democrats (S&D) group as well as Labour deputy leader, was also recognised as the most influential Maltese MEP and the leading figure within his political group.

The Burson Influence Index is a unique, objective, and data-driven analysis of the ability of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to shape legislation and drive the public debate. We achieve this by analysing two key dimensions of influence: Parliamentary Influence and Public Influence, using a robust statistical methodology and validated using a technique called Principal Component Analysis.

The study rated European Parliament President Roberta Metsola ranked 105th, Thomas Bajada ranked 108th, David Casa ranked 338th, Daniel Attard ranked 347th and Peter Agius 635th.
