Back in the premiership, Valletta claimed their first win of the season with a convincing 3-1 victory against Marsaxlokk.
A goal-less first half changed immediately after the break when De Asis Jefferson fired Valletta in front. Five minutes later it was Valletta went 2 up through Yuri Messias.
Marsaxlokk reduced the deficit on the hour when Joseph Minala hit home from close range.
Valletta sealed the win with a third goal three minutes in added time when Andrea Zammit slotted the ball past the Marsaxlokk goalkeeper.
