During the early hours of Wednesday morning, police officers, assisted by officials from the Detention Services, carried out routine inspections in various localities across Malta in relation to irregular immigration.
Inspections were conducted in Marsa, St Julian’s, Gżira and Sliema, resulting in the arrest of 28 people
.
13 of whom were found to be residing in Malta illegally, while another 15 are being investigated in connection with vagrancy and/or begging.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
