Prime Minister Robert Abela announced the government will be providing a special leave for parents with babies in ITU.

Speaking at a party meeting at the GWU building in Valletta on Sunday he spoke of how the Labour government is improving peoples lives.

Next months Budget will be the best ever and pensioners will receive another increase in state pensions. The country’s economy is strong, he said. Malta has the biggest economic growth of all of Europe.

The government is providing a new treatment to prostate cancer patients, St Vincent de Paul will get an intermediate care facility and the government will invest in the Cospicua elderly residence.

Land reclamation, reducing the number of people visiting the island of Comino and harsher drink driving laws, all aimed at improving and saving lives.

Robert Abela spoke about the situation in Gaza and said the government will recognize the state of Palestine.
