Sharon Ellul Bonici, sister of Parliamentary Secretary Andy Ellul, has died aged 55.
She was a vocal opponent of Malta’s bid to join the EU although she contested the MEP elections on the Labour ticket in 2009 but was not elected.
Prime Minister Robert Abela described Ellul Bonici as a “progressive voice who always fought the status quo”.
