Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government Owen Bonnici made his first official visit to the Lands Authority, where he met with all employees. He was accompanied by Permanent Secretary Kevin Mahoney, Authority Chairperson John Vassallo and Authority Chief Executive Robert Vella.
During the visit, Minister Bonnici announced the launch of a new initiative: the Worker-Student Scheme where a call for applications will be issued addressed to those who wish to join the Lands Authority as Trainee Officers and begin studying in the field of Sustainable Land Management.
Through this scheme, participants will benefit from an accredited and fully sponsored MQF Level 4 Award in Sustainable Land Management course – which they will undertake on a part-time basis and is divided into two semesters at the University of Malta. The course is worth 16 ECTS credits and includes key themes such as sustainability principles, economics, better planning and land law.
This course was originally developed for the professional development of employees already working within the Authority, with 16 employees having already successfully completed this course. For more details on the course, one can visit https://www.um.edu.mt/courses/overview/slmscaugptd-2024-5-o/ .
