Roberta Metsola stated that she has a responsibility in Brussels when asked whether she will remain at her post in the wake of a vacant seat at the Nationalist Party’s helm.
Following the shock resignation of Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech, speculation has been rife that Metsola might leave Brussels and return to Malta to spear-head the Nationalist Party bid to win the next election.
Metsola has however refused to be drawn as to where her future might lie. She made no comment on Grech’s resignation and with a weekend survey by Maltatoday giving Labour a massive 39,000 vote lead, it may not be the time for her to return to Malta.
