A firefighter lost his life after getting into difficulties while swimming, in the Ras ir-Reqqa area on the outskirts of Żebbuġ, Gozo on Thursday afternoon.
Police and medical emergency teams were called to the scene and the man was taken to Gozo General Hospital but died shortly afterwards.
