This morning, Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes visited the social housing areas in Santa Luċija. In these areas, the Housing Authority, in collaboration with Housing Projects Solution Ltd, is currently carrying out an important regeneration project that is transforming the aesthetic environment of these zones while also undertaking essential maintenance works.

Minister Galdes explained that “through an investment of around €520,000, this project will have a direct impact on 56 families living in these housing units, as well as a broader impact on the Santa Luċija community, since the whole community benefits when the environment is more beautiful and clean.”
This regeneration project is being implemented across a total of seven social housing blocks and includes the embellishment of façades, the upgrading of common areas, and the renovation of rooftops.
Minister Galdes emphasized that “these regeneration projects that we are implementing in the social accommodation sector, across various localities in our country, continue to reflect this Government’s vision of looking at people’s quality of life holistically – including the environment they live in, and the environment of our communities. Projects like these continue to improve quality of life and leave a tangible difference in the lives of families and our communities, with a more pleasant environment that respects the dignity and health of individuals – including their mental well-being.”
