The Malta Football Association held a press conference on Monday to launch its limited-edition 125th Anniversary shirt and to preview the upcoming international windows.
The press conference was addressed by Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo and Commercial and Communications Director Matthew Spiteri Gonzi, who provided details on the kit as well information regarding match ticketing for the coming matches. National Team players Rachel Cuschieri, Maria Farrugia, Henry Bonello and Carlo Zammit Lonardelli were also present.
The design is inspired by the kit worn by the Malta National Team in its first official match against Austria back in 1957. The kit will be worn by the Men’s National Team in the FIFA World Cup European Qualifying match against Lithuania, and by the Women’s National Team later this year.
There are only 1,700 shirts being sold, with each limited-edition short coming with a unique number that is assigned at random. Specific numbers cannot be requested or reserved, and the kit will be sold in a limited-edition branded box.
“Launching this kit is a great way to celebrate the Malta FA’s 125th Anniversary. We are targeting good performances from both senior National Teams to mark the announcement, so that this year is truly a memorable one,” President Vassallo remarked.
“Working with Errea, we tried to keep the design as simple as possible, in a way where even Errea’s brand symbol is only on the sleeves. In terms of details, the kit includes the Maltese eight-pointed cross on the front, as well as the Malta FA 125th Anniversary logo on the back, together with a quality mark on the lower part of the shirt,” Mr Spiteri Gonzi added.

Additionally, details were also provided regarding ticketing for the matches of the upcoming international windows.

“We encourage everyone to attend the match so that they can back the team for such an important game,” President Vassallo remarked. He added that H.E. President of Malta Myriam Spiteri Debono will be in attendance to support the team. Additionally, Eurovision Song Contest Finalist Miriana Conte will be present to entertain the crowd pre-match, hyping them up so that they can show their support to the team.
