The Small Initiatives Scheme for voluntary organisations to carry out projects and initiatives in the community has been launched for another year

A total of 460 projects have been carried out so far with an investment exceeding €1.6 million

The Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) has been relaunched. It aims to provide tangible financial support to voluntary organisations. All sectors are eligible, from those related to sport, environment, art, culture to organisations related to health, disability and education.

This was announced by the Minister for Inclusion and Volunteering, Julia Farrugia, in the presence of the Chief Executive of the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) Mauro Pace Parascandolo.

The total budget for the scheme is €180,000, with each application being able to request up to a maximum of €5,000 per project or initiative. Since the launch of the scheme, 460 projects have been implemented with an investment exceeding €1.6 million.
