Free professional advisory service for farmers and ranchers launched to achieve a sustainable agricultural sector

AgriKonsulta, operated by the Directorate of Agriculture, offers technical and practical support to farmers to improve their operations, be more productive and sustainable, and increase their profits. After a successful first year in the tomato and vegetable sector, the service has now also been extended to fruit trees and animal husbandry.
AgriKonsulta advisors help farmers with knowledge on the efficient use of resources, innovative production methods and environmental protection. For farmers, the service focuses on raising and managing livestock, using efficient feed, and reducing emissions that affect the climate. With the support of AgriHub, the consultancy also includes technologies such as weather stations and pest forecasting models.
Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo explained how by implementing these strategies, the agricultural sector will also be contributing to our country achieving the goals set out in Vision Malta 2050. “AgriKonsulta is a clear testament to the ministry’s commitment to ensuring that everyone working in agriculture has the tools, knowledge and support to succeed in a changing reality. We will continue to see that the agricultural sector continues to strengthen, be more sustainable and competitive so that future generations can have a more decent living,” concluded the minister.
