Work is underway on the Family Park in Bengħajsa to expand this park in the southern part of the country by an additional 7,000 square meters. The site was visited by the Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness Miriam Dalli, along with Project Green and the Birżebbuġa Local Council.
After Project Green worked on the design of this phase of the project and permits were issued, work has now begun. At present, overgrown weeds are being cleared to allow for surveying work and analysis of soil conditions, ensuring there is no negative impact on biodiversity. As part of the project, 141 trees and numerous shrubs will be planted.
“The Bengħajsa Family Park is serving as a green lung for this community, and as time goes on, more families are enjoying it. We are ensuring that the Bengħajsa Park not only expands and becomes more accessible but also adds value to the community,” said Minister Miriam Dalli.
