Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the Container and Groupage complex in Ħal Far, where he met with several owners and employees of logistics companies together with the Groupage Operators Association. This complex in Ħal Far offers a centralized space for consignments arriving in Malta in small quantities from various countries. In this way, consignments are collected and distributed more efficiently. This service helps small and medium-sized businesses that do not make use of a full container by offering more affordable solutions.
Prime Minister Abela explained how the Government recognises the crucial role that this facility plays in the logistics chain and in the development of trade in Malta. “This complex reflects our ambition as a Government to empower Maltese operators to be an integral part of a global market. It is gratifying to me to see more coordination between the Government and the private industry to address challenges and look towards new opportunities, particularly in the field of logistics and exports,” said the Prime Minister, mentioning how our country is an important voice in various forums in favour of small and medium-sized businesses, considered the backbone of our country’s economy and therefore part of the success that Malta has continued to achieve.
