Team Blue Lagoon reaffirms commitment to protect the Blue Lagoon

Team Blue Lagoon has taken note of Friday’s court decree, which temporarily upholds an application by ferry operators to block the implementation of Port Notice No. 03 of 2025 implementing the Book. Protect. Enjoy booking system.

This key initiative is part of a broader strategy to increase environmental sustainability of all operations at the Blue Lagoon, protecting its delicate Natura 2000 ecosystems as well as improving visitor experience.

The Book. Protect. Enjoy system was launched on 1st May and immediately delivered encouraging results. On the first day, a public holiday, over 4,800 visitors successfully presented their booking QR-codes and were issued access wrist bands at the area’s three entry points. There was no impact on ferry operations.

In view of the court’s decision, Team Blue Lagoon will temporarily put the Book. Protect. Enjoy system on hold until further notice.

The ministries, public authorities and entities forming Team Blue Lagoon remain steadfast in their shared determination to ensure sustainable, safe and well-managed operations at the Blue Lagoon. They will be reasserting their dedication to visitors’ wellbeing and the long-term preservation of the Blue Lagoon, one the Mediterranean’s most picturesque coastal sites, throughout the ongoing legal process.
