Through collaboration between Enemalta, Infrastructure Malta, and Transport Malta, works are underway to further strengthen the electricity infrastructure in the localities of San Ġwann and St Julian’s.

This was explained during a visit by the Minister for Energy, Dr Miriam Dalli, and the Executive Chairman of Enemalta, Eng. Ryan Fava, joined by members of the San Ġwann Local Council.

This one-million-euro investment will create new links between the Kappara Distribution Centre and various substations in San Ġwann and St Julian’s.

Through these works, connectivity and flexibility in the distribution network will continue to improve, making it easier for technical teams to restore power to residents and businesses quickly in the event of a fault.

Meanwhile, work is also being carried out on substations in the locality to modernise and strengthen their capacity, catering not only for present needs but also for future generations.

“With investments like these, we are ensuring a distribution system that is more robust, modern, and flexible; a system that can meet not only today’s demands but also those of the future. This is another step toward providing reliable and sustainable service to our residents and businesses while continuing to prioritise people’s quality of life”, said Minister Miriam Dalli.

“Works are underway in various localities to strengthen the distribution system, including here in San Ġwann, where we are creating new links between the Kappara Distribution Centre and various substations in San Ġwann and St Julian’s. While thanking the residents and the local council for their cooperation in allowing these works to be carried out, I would also like to thank the workers from Enemalta, Infrastructure Malta, and Transport Malta who are progressing at a very good pace in completing these works as soon as possible”, said Eng. Ryan Fava.
