The Paws and Claws Easter Adventure event will be offering a unique experience for families, where for the first time pets will also be welcome. This event will be held at the Interactive Science Centre, Esplora, in Kalkara, on 26th and 27th April 2025.
The initiative, which is being organised by Esplora on behalf of Science Malta, will combine science, technology and education with the joy of animals. The event will not only include interactive experiences such as science shows, but together with more than 20 local animal collaborators, visitors will have the opportunity to encounter unusual animals, such as reptiles and snakes, among others.
The Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Animal Rights, Anton Refalo, said that, “Events like this help to foster curiosity in the minds of visitors as well as highlight the importance of animals, biodiversity and sustainability. We are committed to fully supporting Esplora in its mission to educate and inspire.”
Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation, Keith Azzopardi Tanti, praised the event and said, “L-Esplora continues to be innovative with educational and engaging events that foster curiosity, creativity, and empathy. We therefore look forward to seeing the community come together for this wonderful experience, which is a true testament to how STEM education can be both fun and impactful.”
The event will also feature an Adoption Corner where families can meet animals in need of a new home. This is an opportunity to increase awareness about responsible pet ownership and foster empathy among children.
James Catania, Director of Esplora, explained how this event will create an immersive experience that combines science with learning and the joy of animals. “This event not only brings families together for entertainment but also provides an opportunity for families for children to learn through interactive experiences with animals, while meeting veterinarians, and being given information about animal care.”
The Paws and Claws Easter Adventure will take place at the Esplora Interactive Science Centre in Kalkara on Saturday and Sunday 26 and 27 April 2025, between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
