During an activity commemorating the fifth anniversary of the establishment of ‘The Meeting Place’ in Marsa, the work carried out, the services provided and the investment made in infrastructure, professionals and even in the ongoing training provided were listed. The vision of ‘The Meeting Place’ for the coming years was also listed.
‘The Meeting Place’ provides Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) working in the education, health and social sectors with a modern building open 24 hours a day to organise meetings, annual general meetings, conferences, training and seminars. In addition, it also helps vulnerable people and people with disabilities to integrate and make use of its facilities.
During this activity, the Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights Michael Falzon stated that this social model should continue to serve as a platform that unites various individuals and organizations that have the welfare of society at heart. He therefore stressed that this government will continue to invest in initiatives such as these that help vulnerable families.

Saviour Grima, Manager of ‘The Meeting Place’, claimed that over 65,000 people have used this facility over the past five years. He also mentioned how over 80 different NGOs make use of this building, and there are often bilateral meetings involving more than one sector.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Marigold Foundation Michelle Muscat, which was also behind the establishment of ‘The Meeting Place’, said that this was a dream come true and maintained that this is a professional place from which support is being provided and which welcomes various NGOs under one roof.
