The Malta Football Association issued a statement in which it announced that it will be appointing a Disciplinary Inspector to investigate the deplorable incidents that occurred at the end of the 360Sports Malta Premier match between Zabbar St. Patrick and Mosta at the Gozo Stadium on Saturday.
In the statement, the Malta Football Association said it “will not allow anyone to tarnish the image of local football and the enjoyment of genuine well-behaved fans.”
“The Association will also be analysing the organisation and security plan of the organisers of the match in question to ensure that everything was in compliance with health and safety regulations.”

Meanwhile the Malta Premier League issued a statement in which it condemned the incidents.
“The Malta Premier League condemns the incidents that occurred at the end of the match between Mosta and Zabbar St Patrick. Without going into the merits of what happened, the MPL draws attention to the fact that from the information it has, it does not appear that there were any fans involved in these incidents. On the contrary, the behaviour of the hundreds of fans who attended the first three matches in Gozo was very good. The MPL welcomes any investigation that has been announced to be carried out by the MFA.”
