20% of Msida Creek project completed

Msida Creek project
After work on the Msida Creek began just over four months ago, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett announced that 20% of this major project is complete. The work, which is divided into several sites, began in November 2024 and is progressing at a rapid pace, so much so that a number of phases are already at an advanced stage.
Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett noted the progress made in recent months and stated that the extensive consultation and planning process that took place before the project began is bearing fruit. He listed a number of special arrangements and new routes that have been created so that, while the necessary infrastructural work is carried out so that Msida can start enjoying this project, the inconvenience that one expects when a project of this magnitude is underway is reduced.
He thanked the workers of Infrastructure Malta and Transport Malta for the coordination that is being carried out to ensure that the area remains safely accessible both for those passing by by car and for those using alternative transport. The minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far in this project and stated that “visits like today’s show our willingness to implement the project efficiently for the common good.”
Infrastructure Malta CEO Steve Ellul explained that in the coming days, work is expected to begin on the last two pillars that will serve as the basis for the flyover connecting Msida with Tal-Qroqq. Meanwhile, work is underway on a new bridge that will connect the Msida waterfront to the Pietà side. “The Msida Creek project represents an important step in improving Malta’s road network and coastal infrastructure,” concluded Steve Ellul. Infrastructure Malta is in constant contact with the local council while frequent updates are being issued on the media and social media to keep the public informed of the latest developments related to this project.
