The Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri has announced details of the second edition of the “Sqaqien” activity, an event that will showcase the unique beauty of the picturesque village of San Lawrenz. On 5th April, from 8:00pm to 11.00pm, this year’s edition will offer a unique artistic and cultural experience, where all those visiting the village of San Lawrenz will be able to enjoy a picturesque walk that passes through 14 rural alleys, each with a distinct artistic element. There will also be an alley dedicated to children.
Minister Clint Camilleri stressed the importance of an event like this which serves as a platform to showcase the rich heritage and creativity of local artists. “It is an opportunity to continue to strengthen our identity and showcase the hospitality we are known for. Above all, to continue to make Gozo a unique destination.” He thanked the San Lawrenz Local Council for this initiative, as well as the artists and everyone who is working to make this event possible.
Mayor of San Lawrenz Noel Formosa stated that “Sqaqien” is an event that will not only create a single cultural spectacle but will also present a number of performances in one evening in the beautiful environment of the alleys that San Lawrenz is blessed with. He said that this activity was possible thanks to the cooperation between the San Lawrenz Local Council, the Local Government Directorate and the Culture Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo and Planning.
Minister Clint Camilleri concluded by encouraging the public to attend this unique event in the streets and alleys of San Lawrenz which celebrates the culture and arts of the Gozitan community.
