The Minister for Social and Affordable Housing, Roderick Galdes, visited the regeneration project being carried out within the social housing sector in Żejtun. This regeneration project, with an investment of more than half a million euros, consists, among other things, of beautifying the facades of the social housing blocks.
Regeneration work has been completed on four apartment blocks in this area, while work on the fifth block is in its final phase. This regeneration work will continue until the completion of the 10 social housing blocks in this area. No fewer than 87 families will benefit from this project.
As is the case in other similar regeneration projects that have been completed in localities across the country, including Ta’ Giorni, Fgura, Mosta, Ħamrun and Santa Luċija, these regeneration projects in social housing areas are offering the residents concerned a more beautiful environment and a higher quality of life.
While visiting the work carried out in this housing sector, Minister Roderick Galdes stated that this regeneration project is an investment by the Government that will continue to raise the quality of life of all those who live in this housing sector.

“Like the other projects we have already completed, this one will also continue to strengthen the dignity of our families. Through projects like these we are continuing to make a difference in the lives of the residents concerned. The aesthetic aspect of how these blocks look is of the utmost importance, but more than that, it is essential that such projects lead to creating a difference in the lives of the residents,” the Minister said.
Minister Galdes also stated that as a Ministry, great importance is being given to similar regeneration projects, so much so that in recent days a new collective agreement has also been signed for workers employed by Housing Projects Solutions Ltd, in the ranks of foreman and tradesperson , which entity is working hard on these regeneration projects in the various social housing sectors across Malta.
