Goods from Canada and Mexico will face a 25% tariff with immediate effect, President Trump announced on Monday.
Speaking from the White House, Trump suggested that car makers would have to move their production lines to America, thus avoiding having to pay tariffs.
China has been hit as well with tariffs doubling from 10% to 20%.
