The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ended in a shouting match.
A photo opportunity in front of the world’s media turned into one of the most chaotic and stunning meeting ever of two countries leaders.
A bad tempered meeting developed into finger pointing and shouting as Donald Trump told Zelenskyy, “You’re gambling with World War Three.” Trump also told the Ukranian president, “you either make a deal or we are out.”
Vice-President JD Vance who was also part of the meeting stoked the fires when he accused Zelenskyyof being “disrespectful”. Vance goaded the Ukranian leader for not showing thanks to America for the military aid it has given to Ukranian.
Prior to the meeting, earlier in the week, Donald Trump called Zelenskyy a “dictator” and even suggested Kiev was responsible for starting the war. Those comments did not bode well for what turned out to the most explosive meeting ever witnessed at the White House between two leaders.
The very public bust-up did nothing for US/Ukraine relations. What it was was a gift, a triumph for Russia.
