Hamrun missed the chance to increase their lead after being held to a goal-less draw by Floriana. That allowed Sliema Wanderers to close to within a point following a narrow 1-0 win over Mosta.
Today Hibernians will be targeting a win that would get them level with second placed Sliema. It will not be an easy game against Marsaxlokk who have proved time and time again that they can be a match for any side.
Later today Birkirkara take on Melita knowing a win would lift them level with Hamrun Spartans. Melita will not be sitting back, they know a win would lift them up to joint second in the table.
