President Joe Biden had hoped to land a decisive knock-out punch against Donald Trump, his expected opponent in November’s Presidential election during a televised debate on Thursday night.
Instead, Biden at times seemed a man lost, stumbling over his words and at one point, appearing to freeze.
Some Democrats had described Biden’s debate performance as an “unmitigated disaster”, “a meltdown”, and “a slow-motion car crash”.
For any Democrat contemplating taking over the leadership of the Democratic party and the nomination for president, there is one obstacle. Joe Biden himself has to say he is stepping aside and at the moment, there appears to have no intention of doing so.
