In Gozo, the Minister for Social and Affordable Accommodation Roderick Galdes and the Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri inaugurated the new offices of the Housing Authority.
Minister Roderick Galdes highlighted the expansion of the Housing Authority’s roles in recent years to reach more people and make a greater positive impact on their lives. “Today’s inauguration is another step that strengthens our belief in providing a decent and dignified roof for everyone,” he stated.
He further mentioned that this year marked by a record opening of social housing projects and schemes, Government has committed to enhancing operations and human resources. As a result, Gozo residents now have a local point of reference to access information about the schemes offered by the Housing Authority.
Minister Clint Camilleri said that the operations of the Housing Authority in Gozo have grown, and therefore, it was felt that the services offered should move to a more suitable location that meets the clients’ needs. Minister Camilleri said that with the new offices, which are in a more central and accessible location, not only will the clients be better served, but the officials within the Authority will also operate from a much more attractive and comfortable space. This way, the client will truly be at the centre of the service being offered.
Housing Authority CEO Matthew Zerafa said that this new office is another step forward in the reform that is being undertaken within the Housing Authority, and the Authority’s commitment to offering a quality service to Gozitans.
Among the services that will be offered in the new offices, Housing Authority officials will provide assistance to Gozitans with needs related to the rental sector and the variety of schemes administered by the Authority.
Between October 1 and June 15, the offices will be open from Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 12:00pm. Between June 16 and September 30, the offices will be open every weekday except Wednesdays between 7:30am and 11:30am.
