As Malta gears up to commemorate two decades of its membership in the European Union (EU) on May 1st, EU nationals residing in the country are invited to join the festivities at the European Fair.
Held at the newly restored Ta’ Qali National Park, attendees will enjoy cultural performances, interactive exhibits, and the opportunity to meet MEPs. At 11.00, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola will personally address the expatriate community, highlighting their role in shaping Malta’s future within the EU.
“This celebration is not just about commemorating Malta’s EU membership; it’s a call to action for EU citizens to actively engage in the democratic process,” emphasised a representative from the EPLO Valletta. Participation in Maltese European elections empowers citizens to contribute to the country’s and the broader European project’s future. The European Parliament Liaison Office in Valletta extends a special invitation to all EU citizens residing in Malta, urging them to embrace this occasion to celebrate Malta’s EU membership and engage in the democratic process, reinforcing Malta’s unwavering commitment to democracy and the European project. |
