Premier leaders Floriana will be aiming to open a five point gap over second placed Hamrun Spartans when they meet relegation threatened Mosta today.
Hamrun could have a tricky afternoon when they face mid-table Gzira Utd.
Clear in third place, Sliema Wanderers will want to keep a firm grip on that place when they play Balzan on Sunday.
This season has not been kind to Valletta who have struggled to find any positive form and are now in a battle to get out of the relegation zone. They face Hibernians on Sunday, another side who have been off the pace as well. Hibs though have picked up enough points to give themselves a shout at European football next season. But to do that they need to end the season with a top four finish. At the moment Hibs are fifth, four points behind Marsaxlokk before Sunday’s game. So they have a target to aim for. As do Valletta.
