Fitch Ratings confirmed Malta’s ‘A+’ rating with stable prospects.
Fitch agency also noted that Malta’s Gross Domestic Product has surpassed the pre-pandemic levels of 2019 and noted that the country’s GDP increased by 17% from the pre-pandemic level during the last quarter of 2023.
The agency attributed this growth to the tourism sector which grew to some three million tourists last year – an increase of 8% over 2019.
Fitch added that it expects the Maltese economy to grow by 4.1% during 2024 and by 3.7% next year, while unemployment is expected to be an average 2.8%.
